On Monday, April 20, 2026, the Golden Eagle Education Foundation (GEEF) hosted its annual Senior Recognition Night.  Attorney Tait D. Elkie was honored to award the Jo Nelson Veterinary Science/Criminal Justice Scholarship to Jaydon Swain.

This scholarship was made possible through the generosity of a remarkable Fountain Hills woman named Jo Nelson.  Jo was a long-time resident of Fountain Hills who passed away in late December of 2023.  Through a trust she established, Jo directed that her assets be used to further Fountain Hills initiatives, specifically those benefiting children, teens, and families in our community.  Though retired, Jo was an active and beloved member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church choir, the Noon Kiwanis Club, Teen Court, and several other organizations.  This scholarship is a reflection of who she was, that is someone who believed in investing in the next generation.

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Swain and all of the deserving graduates of Fountain Hills High School’s Class of 2026.
